It is interesting to note that Hinson was also spelled Henson. Matthew Henson, and Josiah Henson (the model for Uncle Toms Cabin), both came from Charles County Maryland. There are still relatives of the Amos, Walls, and Hinsons (Hensons), living in that area. The founder of Hinsonville left and settled in Canada, as did Josiah Henson. There is so much of our history that needs to be told. It is great to have a forum like this to get the message out.
