Thank you, Leigh, once again. We must remain vigilant in seeking and maintaining the truth. There is so much hog wash out there, and so much that is *not* being told to our children and ourselves. By promoting the quilt code when there is no documented proof continues to devalue the truly heroic efforts of freedom seekers to find their way to freedom. This is *not* an instance of "it is oral history, and besides, the URR was secret, so it cannot be documented..." As we are all discovering, there is a great deal of evidence in historical records regarding the URR and the minions of black and white people who risked their lives to help slaves run away. We should all be researching and documenting, and showing the world the real stories of the URR.
