The month of November has been very enjoyable for me, hoping the same for everyone!
On Thursday, November 18, 2004, I gave a presentation at The Works Museum in Newark, Licking County, Ohio. About the “Origins of the African Slave Trade”. I feel the issue of how African Americans became enslaved is very important in understanding contemporary dilemma of African Americans in the United States.
Recently I have been focusing on seeking knowledge about where my ancestors came from in Africa and facts about life in Africa may have been for my African ancestors. I awaiting results of my DNA analysis that may tell me of what region/s and cultures in Africa some of my ancestors came from. From this effort , I hope to document and present facts that will enable people to finally understand that enslaved Africans were not impoverished savages from the jungles, but rather were people who lived in stable cultures.
Input from anyone with interest or research on this topic is welcome!
