I have perceived much of the same sentiment, expressed above and in prior posts, about the NURFC. Locally, many URR researchers are worried that the NURFC will squander huge amounts of resources, money and perhaps most important, the public's interest, on superficial glitzy exhibits.

Certainly the website is not very informative, beyond telling about their big plans.

I think the big lesson so far, at least until they prove themselves, is to support your local research, attend local conferences and urge local groups to get involved and develop a support network with other local and regional groups. The real work is still being done at the local level. Although the NPS has its problems, I still trust them to present a more balanced, historically correct version.
