I'm a reporter at the Cincinnati Enquirer who is working on a package of stories to run a couple of weeks before the opening of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati in August.

I'm trying to meet with or talk with descendants of self-emancipated slaves or of those who helped slaves escape. I'm also trying to talk with those personally affected by these Underground Railroad stories.

My story is an attempt to bring history into the present for readers. I've read some of the comments on this thread and I'd like to talk with you more about using some of the facts posted here.
