Re: HINSON VILLAGE IN CHESTER COUNTY PA
In Response To: HINSON VILLAGE IN CHESTER COUNTY PA ()
Recently discovered after reviewing some deed information for one of my 4th great grandfathers that they lived in Hinson Village in Chester County, PA in the 1840s.
The family name was ENOS(ENO/ENICE/ENNIS/EINNS/ENNS). I found an deed that stated that my ancestor Nathan Bailey ENOS sold land in 1847 that he originally purchased from Jessie HINSON. The location of that land was in Lower Oxford, PA where Hinson Village was located.
I will be purchasing the book mentioned in this thread to see about finding out more info about this community which I had never heard of before! My ancestor, like the Hinsons, eventually moved to Canada in approximately 1850. They settled in Raleigh, the Buxton Settlement in SE Ontario and moved back to the USA after the Civil War in approximately 1878.
