In Response To: UgRR safe houses in Morley,NY ()
The Network To Freedom (NTF) Program may be of help in this area.
I belong to The Friends of Freedom/Ohio Underground Railroad Association, a group dedicated to the documentation and preservation of UGRR sites, safehouses and other materials related to the UGRR in the State of Ohio. Here is an example of just one of our projects. http://www.ohiomemory.org/cdm/ref/collection/p267401ccp2/id/1933
Do the "other facts" you have establish when the house was built? The owners's and UGRR activity in the area during it's period of operation as a safe-house? these are just two (2) areas that must be researched and documented in establishing the fact that this particular house was used as a safe-house on the UGRR.
Good Luck and Best Wishes in your effort.
Am looking for information on how to establish the fact that a house was used as safe house on the UGRR. I owned a house in Morley,NY, that overlooked the grass River, that had a secret room furnished with a small bed etc. A door to the bedroom that locked from the inside, a huge pine tree in the front yard close to the front of the house, which was overlooking the Grass River. lots of other facts.
