Hello, I have a question about underground railroad running through chesterfield Ind. When I was young & living ther I remember my friends houses had old tunnels that seem to connect the houses at one time. They were blocked up but I remember the stories that it was about the underground railroad. At present they are along highway 32. The houses were close enough together that it could be possible. The owners at the time would not let us dig & they told us it was the underground railroad that used to go through there. This has been about 40 years ago but I saw a show on the learningchannel about this subject & it made me remember.Would like any info you might have hearsay or fact.The houses are still standing & I know you can still see where they covered it up.

There are three houses that look like they were once connected. the houses are very old but have been refurbished.

I thought about going back and talking with the present owners & see if they know anything. Thanks any info would be great. James Hinchman
