Hi Jan
> "Susannah, wife of Henry Riffle, only child of an heir at law"
Thanks for letting me know this.
I wonder if the Henry RIFFLE you mention is the same as ...
Henry REIFFEL=RIFFLE
n=08 May 1826 PA,Somerset-Co d=11 Sep 1867 PA,Greene-Co
buried=PA,Greene-Co,Aleppo-Twp,Windy-Gap-Cemetery
(son of Samuel REIFFEL=RIFFEL=RIFFLE, Sr. & Alice McHUGH)
m=24 Feb 1850 PA,Greene-Co to Susan(nah) KEENER n=25 Oct 1822
d=20 Aug 1896 (daughter of Peter KEENER, Sr. & Susan STEWART)
This Susannah KEENER was the sister of Oliver KEENER
m=Cynthia Ellen WILSON (daughter of Jacob WILSON).
1864 During the American Civil War this Henry RIFFLE wrote a letter
to Jacob WILSON & his wife, addressing it "Dear Uncle & Aunt"
which shows some relationship to Jacob WILSON
even before his son married into the ADAMS-WILSON family.
This letter is in possession of Robert MILLER of New-Jersey.
Henry's son was John Adam RIFFLE
n=08 Jan 1851 PA,Greene-Co,Springhill-Twp

(daughter of William H. ADAMS & Malinda A. WILSON).
Malinda's father was Jacob WILSON, who's wives were
(Mary) Elmira COLE (DUNSTONE?) &
Maria ADAMS (daughter of Abraham ADAMS).
Another source note I have is the 1989 book
"Catholic Trails West: Founding Catholic Families of Pennsylvania"
p422 by ADAMS, EDMUND, O'KEEFFE & Barbara BRADY
& published by Gateway Press Inc. of MD,Baltimore.
Please let me know if you turn up anything else
