Re: Census Household Search Software
In Response To: Census Household Search Software ()
Though the wording of the below news release says this is for Canadian research, it also, supposedly, works for U.S. and British research as well. PERHAPS this might be something similar to that for which you search. Keep in mind, I am NOT endorsing LOSTCOUSINS in any way, and I haven't used it, but several of my Canadian friends swear by it. The only catch is that you have to input a found relative from the 1880 US Census, then let it do its thing.
This is FREE (in the beginning, anyway), so give it a try and let us know what you think.
LostCousins is the ONLY family history site able to match you with others researching the same ancestors
AUTOMATICALLY - ACCURATELY - CONFIDENTIALLY
Just enter your ancestors and other relatives from the Canada 1881, British 1881 or US 1880 Census - then click the Search button!
Our automated matching is close to 100% accurate, so nobody else needs to see your information. And when you do find a 'lost cousin' you can be certain you're related!
When you find a 'lost cousin' it's a great opportunity to share family photos and stories that have been passed down the generations - things you'll never find in public records offices and archives.
As well as sharing existing knowledge you could co-operate on future research. Searching for baptisms and marriages in old parish registers can be tedious - but a problem shared is a problem halved!
