AfriGeneas Genealogy Technology Forum
Web Page Development
I just came from a Saturday Night chat session. One of the discussion points was establishing a web page.
While I have learned HTML programming and set up my own web page, I am not entirely satisfied with the results. I think that I try to move too fast with limited knowledge.
I am posting this comment simply in aid of those of us who are foundering in the sea of technology. I need help, I know I need help, but don't know where to turn at this point.
I keep persevering, however, and will continue to do so. Sometimes, though, I think I am spreading myself too thin in trying to do genealogy research and, at the same time, trying to record the results of that research [in HTML format, for me].
I tend to keep my research results to a minimum of online sites. I have found record after record repeated because people are able to latch onto existing technology and input data online in whatever format is there for their choosing. Much of this data has no substantial proofs to back it. Caveat emptor.
I do not wish to waste the time and space of this forum, but felt a need to speak out to those who are freshly entering the realm of online genealogy.
