I had a big problem with slow, unresponsive, and freezing up until my daughter upgraded my memory capacity by installing 1 gig of memory. I was running programs on 2.80 GHZ with .64 gig of memory.

My daughter explained that programs like IE7, Yahoo! mail [BETA] and others were eating up my memory, causing slow responses and freezing up.

I thought the 2.80 GHZ capacity was the be all and end all until she pointed out to me that that only gave me storage capacity, not operating capacity. Now, I am good to go.

I may not be stating this in the most technological of terms, but my problem boiled down to lack of memory. I had severe problems operating programs like my all-in-one printer/fax/copier, Kodak Easy Share, Adobe, and others. I reinstalled these programs after my daughter upgraded my system and my problems vanished.
