Re: Lost Information No Backup
In Response To: Re: Lost Information No Backup ()

Many moons ago, I had a program utility that would attempt to recover 'deleted' files that were no longer in the Recycle Bin. I can't remember the name of the group of system utilities, but there are several SHAREWARE programs out there that claim to work.

Perhaps this topic would be a good one for the Technology forum. I'm sure some of our more PC Savy listeners can explain it a little better.

SOMETIMES (aka Often), files deleted from your computer are still there, just no longer accessible. They may be able to be restored, but the longer you wait (and the more you use your disk) the less chance you have of recovering them.

Still, it's worth a try.

I found several versions of a similar program by doing an online search. You want a Windows 'Undelete' program (if you are using windows, that is). It should be capable of recoving files deleted from the Recycle Bin and should NOT require that you have the software installed before it can do the recovery. I would go with a solid software utility that comes with good reviews. Many have free trials, so if it works for you, it's worth the purchase.

Good luck!

[I know exactly how you feel.]
