Copy/Export dialog box
1. Click the Save as type drop-down list and select the format to which you want to export or copy the file.

2. In the Save in lists, select the drive and folder where you want your file copied.

3. In the File name field, type a new file name.

4. Click Save when you've made your selections.

Family Tree Maker copies or exports your file to the drive, directory, and file name that you chose.

I simply plug the flash drive into a 2.0 USB port on the computer...

and follow the instructions above. The flash drive shows in the drop-down list(screen) usually as... f:flash drive name.

This allows you to save the entire file, or just selected family lines. and/or GEDCOM files.
