Do you have a Fry's in your area ? They usually have everything in stock. Have you tried just using your digital camera ? It should do a fine job if you turn off the flash. It can be a more flexible and compact alternative in many cases for scanning or making copies. I would recommend trying it with your digital camera first then if that doesn't work for you try the scanner.
