Re: Scanning text documents
In Response To: Re: Scanning text documents ()
Hello & thanks Art, Perhaps I should have stated that my goal (wish) was to be able to scan a document; be able to edit it; and then 'copy' the results into the 'notes' field of my genealogy software. Once I discovered my OCR program (thanks VKN), I found the editing capabilities to be awkward and time consuming. It would have been easier to simply transcribe the darn thing. Perhaps I need to spend more time learning the program. I know that you are a FTM man. Why do you also use Roots Magic? BTW, when I re-newed my Ancestry.com subscription, they offered me FTM at a good discount. Now I have Legacy & FTM. I don't know as yet which is better for me and I don't know if I need both. But that's another topic. To wrap this scanning issue up, I guess I'll just scan documents as pictures and place them in the 'scrapbook' section of the program. Peace,
