I learned how to close apps that remain open in the background after they are used. You used to have to tap the home button twice and a screen (very small) would open at the bottom. You would touch the app until it showed a red minus sign on all the apps open. One by one, touch the apps and that meant they were closed on the iPhone, iPod or iPad. that didn't delete the app(s)) Now you touch the home button twice and it opens a mini screen of the apps that are open. Using a swiping motion upwards will close it. Closing previous used or unused apps saves on battery.
