Re: iPad and Genealogy
In Response To: Re: iPad and Genealogy ()

keli1, yes and maybe? The second version of iPad , according to many trade publications, should be out this spring. I always wait to see if it is true. This might lower the price of the original iPad or the next generation.

There are print apps already available in iTunes. In my 4th post--in this thread--, I mentioned that I am sure Apple or working on this. I attended MacWorld this past January in S.F.. HP was there so I know they had an app for iPad. I believe it is a wireless app.

Although HP had an app for the iPad, this did not work for me. I use a Canon printer and I always wondered if Canon made an app. During the early part of February, I had to made a call to Canon about repairing my camera lens and it presented the opportunity to ask if they made an app for iPad. They don't but they told me that PrintCentral will allow me to print from iPad to my Canon printer via Wi-Fi.

Within the last few days, I downloaded the app (I believe it cost $9.99) and sent a document over my Wi-Fi connection. I was so happy that it worked. There is an app called
(I believe it is produced by Canon) Canon iEPP (free on iTunes) . This app allows for printing of images from any device like iPhone, iPod Touch (3rd and 4th generation) connected to network via Wi-Fi. I was really surprised that it worked with a 3rd generation iPod Touch.

I don't know about app that allows iPad to print while it is connected. Again, I believe someone or Apple will find a way to make this happen.
