Hey AfriGeneans!
I am an avid Mac user but I have been chained to keeping a Windows partition on my hard drive JUST for Family Tree Maker. I've done research on two programs I am interested in buying (Reunion and Mac Family Tree) so I can get rid of the partition, but I'm deterred from buying them because I can't get a good example of their reports online.
I am eagerly awaiting for the first Mac release of Family Tree Maker later this year. I'm sure this will probably get the partition off. LOL
On the other hand, is there anyone on the board who can tell me if the report/book functions are similar? What I mean by this, is can you create an index of individuals for your book? We're going to publish the third version of our family history next year and an index of individuals is key for a book that has over 2,000 people. Are there reports that will let you go from a pinpointed ancestor down to the last generation of the family? We use this function in Family Tree Maker to pinpoint our earliest traceable ancestor and then go throughout the generations based upon his children all the way down to the last generation of the family.
