Heritagequest, for years is what I used because it's free through my library. The census sheets were a lot clearer. Heritagequest worked for me up to the 1920 error. Have you tried the BROWSE on this site. After clicking on prompts you will have to look at each page of the community. A lot of times by being forced to do that, I found other relatives and neighbors, that helped me to move forward. Try it. This is 1930 unindexed.

When I needed to get into 1930, I needed to become a member of Ancestry. I am still finding new sites to look at and have gotten a lot of new info, I would not known to look for because of those 'leaves'. I do the 3 month membership, because at some point I will have to do on site research, again in one of those states. Libraries have free access to Ancestry and it is somewhat limited--no leaves-- and time alloted can be very limited, 1 hr per sitting, but it's free. So I suggest trying a membership. I don't know anything about Footnote.com but getting the most for your money is what it's all about.
