I like that exact locations and indexes to the census records are visibly seen on footnote without having to subscribe to it, Ancestry.com doesn't show exact location when you aren't subscribed, they just show you the person's name, spouse/mother/father's name, birth year, and county and state, everything else is a link. I use Heritage Quest to see the actual census for free, so I'm only looking for exact location (PCT , WARD , City, etc.), footnote gives me that. I also use footnote to compare census transcriptions. My problem with footnote, not enough records, and some of the records they have, I can get on Ancestry.com and then some. Ancestry.com is a Great start, 7 day free trial, you may find all you need there, unless something else comes up after trial is over. Other sites may have other records, but Ancestry is worth subscribing too. Messages In This Thread
