Hi Jane, Ron's response about the learning curve when being introduced to a new/different software package is encountered is right on the money. Have you heard of practice, practice, pratice? Family View..... My technique for updating/inputting information is to use the Pedigree & Family View in combination and 'right-clicking' on the highlighted individual which allows for adding/editing of individual data, updating of notes, also adding spouses, children, unlinking from parents and/or spouses, deleting individuals/families, going to report features and merging duplicates with a simple click on those features. I'm sure other packages do the same thing, but since you're now using RM4.1, work the 'tool line' for pedigree, family, descendants, people, web search & the generational scale. You will be amazed at how quickly and easily you can navigate the RM package. Good Luck and Best Wishes, Art
