Saving & Storing Photo Images
I'm looking for a few pointers and techniques used by others on the methods used in making photocopies of the documents collected during your research and how they are stored .... originals & copies. At this point I have been taking digital photos of collected documents and placing the images in 'folders/albums' on my computer in MyPictures, copying those folders to an external hard-drive, placing them on flash drives and uploading many to personal website(s) and photo collection places like AfriGeneas Precious Photos, Photobucket & the Epson Photo Center. For the originals, they are put in acid-free sleeves/protectors and filed in folders, then placed in Banker's Boxes according to type of record ... Census, Vital, Obits, Military, Legal & Misc., etc. To date, there are in excess of 2,500 images from 20 years of collecting, or rat-packing, as my wife calls it. I'm open for techniques and suggestions on how to improve my saving & storing procedures. TIA,
