Where you were 20 years ago is about where I am now. I started writing a family history, as a way for me to organize my thoughts and track down the documentation for my statements, but I haven't gotten very far. I've actually finished organizing one notebook.
Do you file your documentation in the file, like birth certificates, census records for the individual? Do you make copies so one is filed with each individual in the family, or does it stay with the head of household? Or are your documents filed separately. I've been keeping the originals in one place and making copies for the files. I've also been trying not to punch holes into my documents, so they have been going into sheet protectors.
Any other tricks of the trade would be helpful.
