it must be my problem but I don't have much success there.

Examples:

I do a "New Search" for the name CHINN in Rappahannock,VA

If I check the exact box for Rappahannock I get the message -- zero
responses , uncheck box.

If I enter in all the exact information and don't check the exact box - I get CHINN names from England first and I must scroll through all of those to find the names I asked for.

== Ex: I read here that there is a 1940 Substitute Census. I was so excited and I went to Ancestry and did a search for Census records -- not listed,

What am I doing wrong?

I can go to Heritage Quest and quickly find my family and it is just the basic.

Ancestry drives me crazy!
