With all that has been going on these past few days with the near loss Tony's genealogy files, I thought I'd share an idea for another way to back up documents.
There are several kinds of computer back-up services, such as Mozy, for instance, but how about scanning all of those copies of photos and other documents to a Google Page or to their Picasa site? Picasa is a photo storage/viewing program easily downloaded from Google, which allows you to put your photos in an online photo album, which can be set for either private or public viewing.
You can also have access to the site from any computer using your password at anytime you wish, so even if something happened to your home computer, there's no loss of records. Picasa is very easy to use, has wonderful editing features and it store's your records off-site without any hassle.
