I think you may have misunderstood me or I wasn't clear. You don't have to type in the notes tab in FTM to note a non-married relationship. There is a drop down box in the marriage screen that allows you designate what the relationship is. It states the "married," "partners" and "friends" that I talked about before. The only time you have to type anything is if you have a divorce date and you can add that as a fact. When you do so, it automatically changes the end status of the relationship to divorced.
