FTM Home Pages....
In building an FTM Home Page for the Internet be aware of the 2,000 individual limit placed on the section titled "My Family History". This may not be an immediate problem, but as your file(s) grow, it may become one.
If your database is larger than 2,000 persons it will allow you to select those you want in the My Family History up to that limit. I've had to "resrtict" my names.
A couple of nice features to this section are #1, the privatization of living individuals, It will only reflect their name and connectivity, no personal data such as dates, locations and notes. #2, it allows for "thumbnail" photos of individuals and/or documents associated with that particular person. This done thru the scrapbook feature and is probably the reason for the 2,000 limit.
Family Photo Section....The photos are placed in a "random" sequence and not neccesarily in the sequence you input them. And you don't have the ability to rearrange the assigned sequence.
Book Section......You have the option of producing a Book for your Home Page, but there appears to be an update problem. When you update your My Family History section thru the online update feature the Book will be lost and needs to be re-input. This problem has been reported to the FTM software folks, several times, and the response is "we're working on the problem".
These limitations are more of a wish list than real software problems. I'm using FTM 2006 and really impressed with all of the newer "bells & whistles".
