I'm confused by a resent find I discovered about my 2nd great grandfather Tom or Toney Underwood; married to one Clarissa Baldwin. Had thought his last name to be Underwood; but upon finding his death information out of the state of Alabama. It has his parents listed as Rich & Fannie Alford. This puts a new twist on my query. I tried to say this couldn't be my 2nd great grandfather or his parents. But other pieces of the puzzle is saying otherwise.

On top of all this; is the previous information given to me back in 1998 when I first started inquiring about Tom/Toney Underwood not true; of his parents being Joseph & Fannie Underwood out of the Robinson Crossroads area in Montgomery, AL? I need help with this one; cause my tree is crumbling fast. Either from untrue statements/information gathered from family and others.

With trying to keep information straight and having to resort families and investigating those clues; is burdening me on my research. Any help appriciated.
