I wanted to tell you a little about my genealogical background, so you will understand where I'm coming from:

I was a professional genealogist from about 1974 for all of Kentucky records until I moved to Florida about 10 yrs. ago. Also, for part of the time, I was a Certified Genealogical Record Searcher. Then I didn't pay my dues any more, because I had all the work I could do as I was on a list of researchers at the KY Dept. of Libraries and Archives. I had the complete county court records available on microfilm at the KDLA at Frankfort--Just about a 30 minute drive. Also the Federal Population Census. And I am familiar with all 120 counties, including where the courthouse had burned at one time or another. I taught Genealogy in the Fayette County Adult Education program for 15 years. (I have lots of forms which I passed out to students.) I am rather knowledgeable about what records exist for African-Americans, also, such as wills, deeds, marriages etc. (including the Declarations in Kentucky). I am trying to find my way around this site, but so far, I'm just contributing marriages.

[Snipped] After awhile I decided to do African American research for Jessamine County, as I had many friends there. So, I have collected different records, and it is a work in progress for me, which is why I don't want to get rid of my material, just want to donate the information from my records.
