Re: [GA] Savannah's Beach Institute

Many grateful thanks. Your description of BI makes me feel guilty for not volunteering more here in my area. I'm not an archivist by profession but I can certainly make lists of contents of boxes and folders.
My wife's Savannah connection is set out over in the Brick Wall Forum under the heading "A Lone Ralston in Savannah."
During a very quick visit to Savannah a month ago, we learned a bit more about the mixed-race community there, such as the significance of fact that her great-grandparents were married by the rector at St. Stephen's on Troup Square. The possibility subsequently emerged that her grandfather, George Ralston, may have attended BI before he, his sister Myrtle Christina, and their mother moved to NYC around 1906 when he was about 14. George became a teacher in the NYC public school system, ultimately retiring from Midwood High in Brooklyn in the 1950s.
Many thanks again for your generous replies and offer of time. I hope I get to pay it forward.
