I guess finding an 1893 commencement program for the M Street school in Washington at the DC Public Schools archive has spoiled me considerably.
On the other hand, I've just discovered that the AMA records are housed at the Amistad Center at Tulane. Since Beach was established by the AMA, it seems likely that they'll have records and annual reports and all the other kinds of paperwork associated with running schools.
Maybe I can schedule a visit to Tulane some time in mid-February, as I hear that New Orleans is even more interesting around that time of year.
Come to think of it, the AMA papers may have quite a lot of information about a lot of Reconstruction-era schools. It would be useful if someone catalogued the schools by name, as their current catalogue simply lists the records by state.
