I am sorry, I don't know a Patrick West. Did your family take the Y-DNA Test? We have some West relatives who lived in Sampson County, NC. One of the West men moved to Fayette, GA. We knew that we matched the one's in NC, but did not know the others matches before our match. There is about 14 West families that we match now. I don't remember seeing a John West b. 1845 on our list. That's not to say there isn't one.
Other West that we matched lived in LA, ALA, Miss, TN, TX, Ark, AZ, SC and TN. They migrated up and down the east coast also.
Our oldest ancestor is James West b. 1725, NC.

Do you have more information on the West from LA. Where is the Winn Parish located. We have counties and I understand counties are the same as Parishes.
