Thanks to the Civil War Pension file and Ancestry public trees I have found new cousins! They knew nothing except the names of their grandparents. I am trying to locate the death certificates for their grandparents who they were told died in Detroit, Michigan. I have figured out they must have died between the dates of the 1920 and 1930 census because their father is with his parents in Detroit on the 1920 census, but is back in Memphis with an aunt on the 1930 census as a 10 year old “boarder”. Michigan is new territory for me and I have Googled, Family Searched, Mocavoed trying to find their death records. If anyone has any ideas of where else I should search it will be greatly appreciated.
