I am seeking the Will and Inventory of Payton Wells of Fayetteville, TN. who I believe to be the slaveholder of my ancestor, Doug Wells.
Doug is in Lamar County Alabama in 1880. It is 143 miles due south of Fayetteville. There is a possibility that the slave Moses may have been Doug's father. Payton Wells died in 1864.
