[TX] Family Relation: Two Joe A(llen) Cummings Pt. 1

Need serious help with this one.

Starting back research on my Cummings line, I come upon a situation hard to determine.

Trying to figure out which Joe Cummings this is, I have come to the conclusion that they are both related (1st cousins of each other), but believe they were mixed up.

Joe Cummings #1:

Joe A. Cummings (believe the middle initial stands for Allen) son of James Cummings and Ollie Mae Criddle, born about (January) 1885 in Camp County, Texas.

James Cummings is the son of my 3rd great grandfather Benjamin Cummings and (more than likely stepson) of my 3rd great grandmother Julia.

Benjamin's oldest son was Joseph C Cummings, who had a son named Joseph Benjamin "Buddie" Cummings. In census he goes by Joe B. or J. Buddie...WW1 Draft Card includes Benjamin as his middle name. He was born about 1874 and died March 26, 1950 in Camp County, Texas. He married Berta Strickland in the 1890s and had several children. So he is deleted from the scene. (Just in case anyone inquires about him.

My focus is on Benjamin's two middle sons, James and Stephen Cummings, they are both my second great granduncles, their brother William "Bill" Cummings, who is the youngest, is my 2nd great grandfather. (All except one of Benjamin's children were born in Georgia, William was the only one born in Texas).

James Cummings (Sr.) married Ollie Mae Criddle on January 21, 1875 in Camp County, Texas. They had six children: Emma (1872), Ellen (1877), Ella (1879), Jim/James (Jr.) (1882), Joe A(llen) (1885) and Liza (1888).

Three of the 4 daughters, Ellen, Ella, and Liza, I couldn't follow, haven't been able to find marriage records for them and their names doesn't show on any revealing documents.
The oldest son Jimmy I didn't know exisited (since he doesn't show in 1900) until finding his death certificate stating he was the/a son of Jim Cummings and Ollie Criddle. He died April 20, 1938 in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins, Texas. This is so with a few of the Cummings, they don't show in census, but yet I find a death certificate for them.

It appears James and wife Ollie died between 1910 and 1920, so finding a DC for them during that time period in Texas is like pulling teeth, especially for a county like Camp.

I want to cancel out the first Allen since he is older than mine and have married way two many times for it to be the right one. 1900 census has my Joe A. Cummings living with his parents and listed as single. This Allen in 1910 is on his second marriage and been married for just 3 years.

The Joe A Cummings in 1920 could be the same, but age is the same as the one in 1910. He is widowed and living with his "uncle". I did a search for his Willie Gordon and Mary Allie, found them in 1930 with no sign of Joe, could not find him or his wife in 1910, and not sure if I found a marriage record of them, unless her name is Ollie Mae Payne, then they married in 1914 in Hopkins County (via familysearch.org). I found a death certificate for what appears to be this Willie Gordon, but information is limited and lacking on it, also he was stated as divorced, there is no sign of a DC for his wife or his children.
There is no sign of a Gordon in my family tree for the Cummings line, the Cummings are a huge family have lots of marriages took place, but none so far married a Gordon.

The Allan Cummins in 1930 Upshur County is the closets one to my Joe. A. Cummings, just for the simple fact that he is living in Upshur County, closest to Camp County, in fact, part of Upshur became Camp.
