Just found out Saturday, 25 Jun, that the www.familysearch.org site has posted as of 30 Mar 2011 over 2 million marriage records for the State of Ohio from 1790-1950. Guess I'm late getting the news.

These searchable records also include images. The early records are simply and entry in a log of marriages that took place in the county showing the marrying parties, marrying official and date of the marriage. Records beginning in the early 1900's also include parents, birthdates/locations. They may also indicate by a "c", "col" and/or other remarks indicating the marrying parties were persons of color.

I already had copies of the early Ohio marriage records for most of my direct ancestors, but I'm finding records for many collateral relatives for which I only had names and approximate marriage dates.

A great resource for researchers with a history of Ohio families.
