[Nationwide] I Can't Sleep--Why?

It's because my ANCESTOR's keep worrying me to make sure I say this.
Have you heard of these genealogical magazines..
The Quill
The Carolina Herald and Newsletter
The Homeplace
All of them come out of the societies in SC. I need to tell all. Whether you are researching family in out or around the Carolina's..write a story about your people. People did not always stay in one state. They migrated to freedom, or their children left to find better pay. I am saying this because the census does not accurately tell you where a person lived between the 10 years census was taken, they may have moved many many times.
I will give you the name of the editor and the email address. Feel free to attach a picture of an ancestor to make it more interesting. I for one will pick up literature that have 'black' faces on it, because I really get curious. Write as if you are talking to a friend. That's what we all will become. If you choose put it in PDF form, but ALWAYS keep a written and dated copy of the story for your records.

We must diversify and send our stories to these societies. Membership opens again in December, but it doesn't hurt to gather your ideas now.
Some of the people you may have heard about that came out of Edgefield SC are..

Senator Strom Thurmond
and His mixed race daughter who wrote her book about this father
The rapper 50 cent aka...
Curtis Jackson. There's going to be documentary on tv about his visiting relatives and meeting descendants of slave owner in Edgefield, SC.
Al Sharpton
AND MY gggranma Adelaide Teague has her story in one of these newsletters.
I have traced some of my family to Washington DC.
If you have used Hertagequest and ordered information, from Indiana, it has been in THE QUILL, My surnames of interest, Teague and Vance are now a part of their catalogue of research.
If you are a member of societies in other states, send them your family story. Have you wondered why there isn't enough information available to help us? You can't always depend on the websites you find or people who may have the knowledge. Some of these people are very busy trying to get the word and knowledge out to us. BUT if it's in a venue where it can be read--somebody will see it. 2 new cousins found me this way. If they do not print it, change memberships. Money Talks.

Now maybe I can get some rest :).
