Kathy, try calling The Flint River Regional Library System was founded in 1949. Our service area includes the six West Central Georgia counties of Butts, Fayette, Lamar, Monroe, Pike and Spalding, covers 1,392 square miles and serves a population of 249,691 persons.
As mentioned previously, the state archive is a valuable resource, however do not discount small public libraries. When you make this call, ask to speak to the reference librarian--he or she may become your new best friend. Don't just rely on an email, you have to call to speak to a reference librian. Be specific to your research request and if they don't have what you are specifically looking for they should suggest other avenues of research. If they don't, ask.
