I came across a family history book while living in TX called "Genealogical Musings: The Obsy Family" by Dr. Charles E. Tatum. The book covers Shelby County, TX which is a border county of Louisiana. Some other titles Dr. Tatum has written are "Shelby County: In the East Texas Hills", "Midnight: Before the Dawn Vol I, II and III" (a series of obituaries of people from Shelby Co., TX), "The Greer Family: A Work in Genealogy"

I thought that they would be a good resource for anyone researching this area. I initially bought the Osby Family book to see what a completed genealogy book would look like. Hope this helps someone
