Re: [NJ] Death RECORDS

Re: Solomon Alexander who died in 1901/1902 in Halifax Cty., North Carolina I went to ancestry.com and learned something. I found out that North Carolina has a "Death Collection" - 1908-2004, which is just a listing with names and dates. They also have "Death Certificates - 1909-1975, which gives a lot more personal info about the deceased. Of course, those years didn't help me. I then checked the 1900 Federal Census. There is a Solomon Alexander, born Aug. 1844 in Virginia, wife was Maggie, and he was employed as a farm laborer. They lived in Scotland Neck. Also on the 1900 Census was another Solomon Alexander, born Aug. 1878, and lived with his mom Amanda in Salisbury, NC. You might consider the County Courthouse records for those years. My family was also from Halifax County, NC.
