I'm the great grandson of J. D. Whaley. B. D. Whaley is an error in transcription taken from census images.

His name is John Davis Whaley, a minister of the gospel, teacher, preacher and religious educator. He is buried in Friendship Cemetery, Haynesville, Louisiana. Year of death abt 1909.

I have copies of actual marriage licenses of John D. Whaley; obtained from Clerk of Court Office, Claiborne Parish, Homer, Louisiana. Also copies of death certificate of Ada Pope Whaley, my great grandmother. John and Ada's son, Alvin L. Whaley, raised me.
