Re: [MS] Jones, Ausburn, Teacher

Jane, I'm still uncertain of what your goal is here. I can understand you wanting to know more about A.D. Jones while he was living in Alcorn, MS. I think that it would be interesting to know what brought him from Ohio to rural Mississippi. If that is what you want to know more about then I think that short of going there, your best bet is the historical society. I'm confused by your statement about following his trail from there. In 1900, they are back in Morgan County Ohio where he dies in 1913. In 1900 his grandaugter Eva is living with them. Their trail goes back to Ohio where they first married. Ohio is a much easier place to research than Mississippi. There are more records readily available. Ausburn Jones 38 head
Ausburn Jones 58 head PA Farmer
The 1900 census indicates that all of their children are deceased. I don't know who Eva's mother was. I would think it would have to be Ida but I saw an Ida Jones marrying a Charles Putt in Alcorn. If you want to follow these folks shouldn't be looking in Ohio ? Name: Ausborn Jones
