Re: [AR] Looking for a obit

I asked who the director was so that I could look him up in the 1930 census to see what street he lived on. Usually back then, funeral palors were located in the home. His name is actually Canonicus Osecola Gettis. He was married to Naomi Gettis. The 1930 census says that he had a undertaker palor. The street says Main Street, but a few doors down say New Orleans Avenue (where his mom lived - Elizabeth). On draft registration says 707 S. Main Street and business at 703 S. New York Street.
Fowler Funeral home is located on Main Street. There is another one on Main, but it is not African American. So, maybe if you can find a directory for that time period it may narrow it down.
