Re: [SC] Lowcountry Records difficulty??

Jason,
I am researching SC, BUT, what I am about to suggest may help you in the future. Consider joining the Old Edgefield Afro Amer Society, SC. They have a lot of records and information to do with black people, that may help you further in your research. I know other black societies close to them are either organizing or have records that is a part of their research library. I haven't been there yet, ( there is no direct public service to the area. You have to drive in from another nearby city 2 hours), but the librarians will help you in any way they can and point you to a good direction. I am not saying anyone here won't be able to do the same, but you just never know. Some of my people migrated through Beaufort from Johnston SC. I wouldn't have found that, if they hadn't helped me out. A 1 year membership may be worth it.
