[SC] Lowcountry Records difficulty??
I am curious in how far and how successful I would be able to find records for the low country area of SC,specifically Beaufort District and the parishes of St.Peters now Hampton County and St. Lukes now Jasper County. Other than finding my ancestors in the census I believe its going to be very difficult trying to find them before 1870.. I know during the Civil War during Shermans March to Savannah he burned every plantation coming out of Columbia. St. Peters Parish now Hampton county which was home too 200 some plantations only 3 original houses survive today. I know of the families are Solomon, Bostick, Lawton, Maners and many others who owned these large plantations. I need some help in guidance that is familar with this area.
