[MS] ADAMS of MONROE MS
DAN ADAMS was my grgrgrandfather. Found his name in Monroe Ms spelled on the 1870 Census as Dam Adams. This surname has given me so many headaches, because it's like looking for somebody with the common name of Smith. I put these research papers aside a long while ago. What I am looking for is anyone who may have been related to Dan and Mary Adams. There were many black Adams on the 1870 Monroe Census, but it is hard to figure out who could be a father and sibling. I finally figured out he had a sister named Ellen living next door. She had 4 of his sons in her household. Ellen was married to Andy Cox. Since at least 3 of Dan Adams sons were so close to Mary Francis Adams age, there had to be wife or mate before marriage to Mary Francis Adams. Some of his sons were born, according to census in Alabama. I don't have a clue how to find out where. So I am sending out this 'SOS' just in case someone has some of the family names in their Tree. Please look at the 1870 Monroe Ms census. Maybe you will see who his xslaveholder would be. I can't.
I have all confirmed information about everyone up to now. I'm looking for pre-1870.
