I am stuck on my ggg grandfather. He was born in 1857 prior to emancipation. His name was Amos Everett. I can not find him prior to the 1880 census in Texas. The 1870 census would have the first census he would have found right ? where do i go from here to find him. He resided as per the census in Texas in and near Panola,carthage,henderson area. How do I confirm if he was a slave,did he have siblings,his parents or the owner etc. any help would be appreciated.
