After years of digging, I've finally found a conntection to the Silver Queen Mining Company and a photo of the original stock certificate in "The Papers of Martin Luther King, Jr: Called to serve, January 1929-June 1951

Great grandfather Frank Baldwin and great grandmother Emily Swindell Baldwin of Columbus County Welches Creek, NC invested in the Silver Queen Mining Co. in Mexico, called the La Gracia Mines. I posted a query back in 2003, I belive. So, it's been a long time looking for any informaition on this.

The mine was purchased by the bishop of the AME chruch of GA and LA. Connections go back to Mother Bethel AME Church here in Philadelphia, home of Bishop Richard Allen and Bishop White. Photos of the Bishop are also housed in the chruch museum.

I was teary eyed when I saw this information in the papers of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Hopefully this lead will help other North Carolinians who are researching the financial history of their ancestors.
