Gee, thank you, Tony. I don't know if they were from Texas or not. But I wouldn't imagine that Herman married Gertie all that often, right? I will follow up on this.
They have only released the 1930 census online, right? Hmm. I wonder which end I would look on? And they would be in LA from--I have to look at the house records. Makes sense they might then move up to Oakland, no? And does the 445 etc show what part of Texas?

I wish I were more experienced at this research (especially not with a toddler in tow.) I had done research earlier at the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (as I thought of it) and the library downtown in LA, all the soundexs, etc. I know I could do that at the History center here in Minnesota, but again, not with a toddler. Ah, childcare. How lovely it would be. Maybe this summer?
